Abstract:
Provided is a light source unit that has a compact configuration and that can appropriately illuminate from an outer corner portion or the like using an LED light source. The light emitted from an LED light source (18) is most intense near the optical axis but its intensity decreases as the distance from the light axis increases, and in the direction along a light emission surface the light volume approaches zero. A portion of the light emitted from the first LED light source (18) is reflected by a surface (11a) of an inner wall (11) (while being diffused by a curved surface (11c)) and emitted externally via surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c) of an outer cover (16). Meanwhile, the remaining light emitted from the first LED light source (18) is directly emitted externally via the surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c) of the outer cover (16). A portion of the light emitted from a second LED light source (20) is reflected by the surface (11b) of the inner wall (11) (while being diffused by the curved surface (11c)) and emitted externally via the surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c) of the outer cover (16). Meanwhile, the remaining light emitted from the second LED light source (20) is directly emitted externally via the surfaces (16a, 16b, 16c) of the outer cover (16). The light emitted from both LED light sources (18, 20) reaches maximum intensity at the curved surface (16c) where the lights cross, and the light intensity gradually weakens as the distance therefrom increases.
