Description:
LIGHT SWITCH AND SOCKET WITH AMBIENT LIGHTING

Technical Field

The invention belongs to the field of electrical engineering and to the field of basic electrical elements. In more detail, the invention can be classified into switches with an indication mark showing the switch position in the dark. The invention can also be classified into the structural elements of coupling devices with means for avoiding faulty coupling.

The designations under the International Patent Classification in the invention field are: H01 H 9/18 and H01 R 13/64.

Technical Problem

The technical problem to be solved by the invention is: how to construct a light switch that is promptly visible and easily activated in the dark while providing a mild ambient light. The invention also solves the technical problem of how to construct a power socket that is mildly and clearly illuminated, so that it can be connected to the plug without difficulty and erroneous attempts, even in the dark, all for the purposes of safety, psychological, human and hygiene aspects.

Background Art

The state-of-the-art knows the solution that is solving the same technical problem that is solved by the invention called: "Low light night switch". This solution is described in the Chinese dossier of the utility model CN203260507, published on 30 th October 2013. The solution from the mentioned utility model dossier includes one LED on the edge of the moving part of the switch. The LED is charged from the power of the switch. The mentioned solution differs from the switch according to the invention because it has only one LED indicating the lower edge of the moving part and is not illuminating the entire switch.

The state-of-the-art also knows the solution from the Chinese patent application CN108010764, which was published on 8 th May 2018 under the title: "Light switch with indicator lamp". The solution described in this Chinese patent application includes two LEDs indicating the position of the switch, whether on or off. In this way, the described solution differs from the switch according to the invention, which is completely illuminated by LEDs in the dark.

The applicant is not aware from either patent or non-patent literature of a socket solution that incorporates a mild ambient light and which glows in the dark and illuminates both the socket itself and the surrounding space. Disclosure of the Invention

The invention relates to a light switch in a room, which includes a mild illumination that constantly glows when the switch is off, and which clearly indicates the position of the switch to be switched on when the room is dark or with reduced visibility. The switch, according to the invention, comprises LEDs below the cover, preferably four, mounted in the corners of the switch to illuminate the frame equally. The diodes are connected to the phase via a resistor and rectifier diode, and neutral phase is used from the switch itself. This means that the switch according to the invention uses the existing installation for the basic function, i.e. it does not require additional installation.

Depending on the desired illumination level of the switch, a resistor of different intensity can be selected. Also, the switch illumination brightness can be defined by the number of LEDs installed.

In addition to the different illumination brightness levels of the switch, the light can also be in different colours, if desired.

As a unity of invention, in addition to the switch with LEDs, the invention also includes a socket with LEDs. The socket includes under the cover LEDs, preferably two, which constantly illuminate the socket. Such illuminated socket thus enables easy, quick and correct insertion of the plug into the socket, both in the dark or in poor light. The diodes are connected to the phase via a resistor and rectifier diode, and neutral phase is used from the socket itself. This means that the socket according to the invention uses the existing installation for the basic function, i.e. it does not require additional installation.

The brightness of the socket illumination is determined by the strength of the resistor as well as by the number of LEDs in the socket.

In addition to the different socket illumination brightness levels, the light can also be in different colours, if desired.

The switch 1 , according to the invention, includes the cover 3 and the core 4. The cover 3 is a standard cover that is connected to the core 4 by fitting into the core of the switch 5. In the middle of the core 4 of the switch is a standard mechanism for initiating contact 2.

LEDs 6, preferably four, are mounted at the corners of the core 4 of the switch to illuminate the frame equally. LEDs 6 are connected to phase 9 via resistor 7 and rectifier diodes 8. To close the electrical circuit the neutral 10 is used from the switch itself.

It is desirable for the resistor 7 to be 330 kD in strength, but resistors of other and different strengths may be used to provide different ambient lighting.

When switch 1 is off, i.e. the light in the room is off, the LEDs 6 are glowing and illuminating the switch 1.

Here is described an example with four LEDs 6 in switch 1 . However, the number of LEDs 6 may be different depending on the desired ambient light intensity.

The ambient light of switch 1 , when the light in the room is switched off, can be of different colours: blue, red, green, yellow, white.

The socket 14, according to the invention, comprises a housing 11 , a cover 13 and a central portion with contacts 12, like any standard socket.

Under the cover 13 of the socket 14, an electric circuit is installed for the ambient lighting. Ambient lighting includes LEDs 16, preferably two, which are connected to phase 19 via rectifier diode 18 and resistor 17 and connected to neutral 20 via rectifier diode 18.

It is desirable for the resistor 17 to be 29 kD in strength, but resistors of other and different strengths may be used to provide different ambient lighting.

The LEDs 16 can be of different colours, and depending on the desired ambient light intensity, a different number of LEDs 16 can be selected.
