Abstract:
A lighting apparatus for visible light communication is configured so as to modulate the optical intensity of a light source (11) containing a light-emitting element (2), and superimpose a communication signal on emitted light. The lighting apparatus includes: a power source circuit (3) configured so as to dim and brighten the light source (11) on the basis of a dimming signal; a switching element (Q1) for modulating the output current supplied to the light source (11) from the power source circuit (3); an impedance element (Rx); a communication circuit (4); and an on circuit (6). The communication circuit (4) is configured so as to supply a modulation signal to the switching element (Q1) side, and superimpose the communication signal on the emitted light. The on circuit (6) is configured so as to turn the switching element (Q1) on using power supplied from the power source circuit (3) when the communication circuit (4) is not operating.
