Abstract:
Disclosed is a backlight device (12) that provides benefits such as making it possible to reduce the cost of a lighting device. Said backlight device is provided with: a plurality of LEDs (17), which serve as light sources; at least two LED substrates (18) on which the LEDs (17) are mounted; and a chassis (14) which contains at least two LED substrates (18). The two or more LED substrates (18) include a pair of adjacent LED substrates, and the backlight device is provided with a connection/retaining member (22) that electrically connects the adjacent LED substrates (18) to each other and holds the adjacent LED substrates (18) in the chassis (14).
