Abstract:
This backlight device 12 is provided with: an LED 13; a light guide plate 15 that has a light incident end face 15a, on which the light from the LED 13 is incident, a light exit plate surface 15b, from which the light exits, and an opposite-side plate surface 15c; an LED substrate 14 that is arranged such that at least a part thereof overlaps the opposite-side plate surface 15c side of a light incident-side end portion 21, which is the end portion of the light guide plate 15 on the light incident end face 15a side; an optical sheet 16 that is arranged on the light exit plate surface 15b side of the light guide plate 15 and has a light incident-side end portion overlapping portion 22 which overlaps the light incident-side end portion 21; and a low transmittance portion 24 that is arranged on at least the light incident-side end portion overlapping portion 22 of the optical sheet 16 and has a lower light transmittance than the other portions of the optical sheet 16.
