Abstract:
Disclosed is an edge-lit lighting device (1), wherein a light source (12) is positioned laterally to a thin panel light guiding plate (11), light that enters the light guiding plate (11) via an incident face (11a) that is opposite to the light source (12) is guided, and sheet illumination exits via an exit face (11b). The edge-lit lighting device (1) comprises a light guiding plate assembly (10), which retains the light source (12) and the light guiding plate (11) together by way of a retaining member (13), further comprising a radiation unit (13a), further comprising a transcalent body that extends along the rear face of the light guiding plate (11); and a casing (2) that houses the light guiding plate assembly (10), surrounding the perimeter portion and the rear face of the exit face (11b) of the light guiding plate (11). The position of the light guiding plate assembly (10) in the thickness direction is restricted by the inner face of the casing (2), and a prescribed gap (S) is disposed in the thickness direction between the inner face of the casing (2) and the light guiding plate assembly (10).
