Title:
LIGHTING DEVICE AND PROJECTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/036256
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A lighting device (100A) comprising an oval-surface reflector (130), a light emitting tube (120), an auxiliary mirror (122), and a collimating lens (140A), characterized in that the light incident surface (140Ai) of the collimating lens (140A) is formed with a reflection reducing film (142A) optimized to handle a light that is emitted, out of lights emitted from the light emitting center P of the light emitting tube (120), at any angle within 60&ring through 80&ring from the lighting light axis (100Ax) toward the oval-surface reflector side, and reflected off the reflector (130), and then enters the light incident surface (140Ai) of the collimating lens (140A). Accordingly, the lighting device can further reduce a reflectance at light entry surface or light exit surface of the collimating lens as a whole, further improve a light utilization efficiency, and further reduce an unneeded stray light. A projector, being provided with the lighting device able to further improve a light utilization efficiency and further reduce an unneeded stray light, can serve as a high-luminance, high-image-quality projector.
