Abstract:
A lighting device is provided with a LED light source having a LED chip and a sealing member which contains a fluorescent material and seals the LED chip; and a light transmitting member provided on a front plane of the LED light source. During a standby time for lighting an object, a standby current is permitted to flow in the LED chip so that the LED chip emits standby light, the LED chip is controlled not to show the color of the sealing member containing the fluorescent material to the outside, and a current value of the standby current is controlled based on brightness of outside light detected by an outside light sensor. Thus, power consumption is reduced.
