Abstract:
The disclosed lighting optical system exhibits a small étendue, a long operating life, and high brightness. Said lighting optical system is provided with: a laser light source that produces excitation light; a phosphor that fluoresces as a result of said excitation light; a light tunnel that emits excitation light incident on one end towards the phosphor from the other end and emits the fluorescence produced by the phosphor from the one end; and a mirror that is provided in the light path between the laser light source and the light tunnel, reflects the aforementioned fluorescence, and has an aperture which lets the excitation light through.
