Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a galvanometer (21) for measuring values of electric current that flows from a lightning arrester (16) of a railway vehicle to a vehicle body (19) of the railway vehicle in an electric circuit (18) between the lightning arrester (16) and the vehicle body (19); a data storage instrument (22) for recording, as history data in a time series, the electric current values measured by the galvanometer (21); and a controller (23) for determining, from a time-series change of the history data recorded in the data storage instrument (22), that, when the average value of the electric current values in a specific unit time has exceeded a specific degradation threshold value, the lightning arrester (16) has degraded, and for outputting a specific degradation signal. Accordingly, degradation of the lightning arrester (16) provided to the railway vehicle is monitored.
