Abstract:
The lightning protection device of a windmill blade in which a receptor, to be
attached to the tip end of a blade where a blade profile is particularly reduced
in size, is simple in structure and easy to assemble, a receptor for lighting strike
is installed on the surface of a blade in order to take an effective action against
a pressure rise occurring within a blade when lighting strides the blade, and
lighting current from the receptor is earthed to the ground via a conductor wire
passed through the inside of the blade and the windmill body or via a connection
apparatus such as a bypass brush, characterized in that a base plate consisting
of a conductor and having the conductor wire connected thereto is buried in the
blade, and a receptor assembly formed by fixing the receptor to the base plate
to be supported thereon and to face the surface of the blade is provided; and a method
of assembling the lightning protection device.
