Abstract:
Disclosed is a lightweight hub made of aluminum-steel composite materials. The hub comprises an aluminum alloy matrix (1), an outside bearing hole steel jacket (3), an inside bearing hole steel jacket (5) and a plurality of bolt hole steel inserts (61); the steel inserts (61) are arranged in the plurality of wheel bolt holes and brake disc bolt holes all around the flange of the aluminum alloy matrix (1); and an outside bearing outer ring (2) and an inside bearing outer ring (4) are respectively fed into the outside bearing hole steel jacket (3) and the inside bearing hole steel jacket (5) by interference press fitting, in order to be connected and fixed to the hub. Such hub is light in weight: the weight reduction is greater than 50% relative to ferrous metal; the strength is high, and the local yield strength can be improved by 30% from 206 MPa to 353 MPa or higher relative to light materials such as aluminum alloys. The hub also allows for a wide range of processing adjustment.
