Provided is an online learning system which can ensure that a lecture provided online is actually viewed from start to finish by an individual. The online learning system 100 comprises: a distribution control unit 15 which receives a distribution request from a student terminal 301 and distributes a lecture moving image stored in a lecture data storage unit; an authentication processing unit 14 which authenticates the face of the student during the playback of the lecture moving image on the basis of an image captured by the student terminal; and a lecture participation progress management unit 12 which, when a failure of the face authentication of the student is repeated in excess of a prescribed condition during the playback of the lecture moving image, makes the student be considered as not having completed viewing of the moving image lecture. The authentication processing unit 14 performs the face authentication on the basis of an image within a range defined as a recognition frame in the image captured by the student terminal 301.
