Abstract:
A new on-line monitoring unit for an ultra-wide voltage and a control circuit therefor. Compared with an ordinary on-line monitoring unit, it is not necessary to reserve a delay unit to replace an original trigger in the ordinary on-line monitoring unit with a latch. A data jump monitor with fewer transistors than a shadow latch in the ordinary on-line monitoring unit is further designed, and the area and power consumption of the on-line monitoring unit can be ultimately reduced greatly, thereby improving energy efficiency and benefits of on-line monitoring technology. In addition, when facing the operation range of the ultra-wide voltage, due to the way of using the latch, by means of a time borrowing characteristic of the latch, an error of a circuit time sequence caused by a PVT deviation can be prevented, so as to achieve the minimum of the margin for the time sequence and to ensure a higher benefit for the power consumption. Finally, a control circuit cooperating with the on-line monitoring unit is also disclosed, so as to better realize the processing and delivery of an error prediction signal of the on-line monitoring unit.
