Abstract:
Provided is a line-of-sight detection device with which it is possible to minimize deterioration in detection accuracy regardless of the imaging method adopted by an imaging system. A line-of-sight detection device according to the present technology comprises: a patterned-light irradiation system that irradiates an eyeball with patterned light; an imaging system that captures an image of the eyeball irradiated with the patterned light; and a line-of-sight detection system that detects a line-of-sight which is the orientation of the eyeball, on the basis of the image captured by the imaging system. The patterned light has a shape conforming to a reference pattern that includes at least three non-parallel lines and has an intersection point at which at least two of the at least three lines intersect with each other. With the present technology, it is possible to provide a line-of-sight detection device that is capable of minimizing deterioration in detection accuracy regardless of the imaging method adopted by an imaging system.
