Abstract:
A linear actuator according to the present disclosure comprises: a ball screw device; a piston; and a rotation stopper. A screw shaft has a screw shaft body, a male spline part, and a level difference surface. A nut has a first end surface, a first opening, and a first stopper. The piston has a piston body, a cylindrical part that protrudes in a second direction from the center of the opposite surface and fits to the male spline part, and a second stopper that protrudes in the second direction from the opposite surface. The first and second stoppers abut against each other when the screw shaft is at an initial position, and constitute the rotation stopper. The level difference surface is disposed further in the second direction relative to the first opening and is positioned inside the nut when the screw shaft is at the initial position. The cylindrical part protrudes further in the second direction relative to the second stopper, and abuts against the level difference surface. The outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical part is larger in diameter than a groove bottom of an outer circumferential orbital plane.
