Abstract:

A linear compressor, comprising a housing (102), the housing (102) defining a storage tank (202) for collecting lubricant and a suction inlet (220) for receiving a refrigerant flow into the housing (102). A pump (206) enables the lubricant to circulate within the housing (102) to lubricate a piston (130), the piston (130) being axially movable to compress the refrigerant flow. A flexible mounting member (160) is coupled to the piston (130) and defines a passage inlet (230) for receiving the refrigerant flow. A splash guard (240) is vertically provided within the housing between the passage inlet (230) and a pump inlet (208) to prevent oil from being entrained into the refrigerant flow.
