Abstract:
Provided is a linear electric compressor wherein the frictional resistance of a piston is reduced, and a permanent magnet is prevented from being worn, so that the compression efficiency can be improved and an excellent durability can be exhibited. The linear electric compressor is comprised of a housing, a piston, an end plate, a valve unit, a coil, and a permanent magnet. The housing has a cylinder bore extending in the axial direction. The valve unit is provided between the cylinder bore and the end plate. A discharge chamber is formed between the valve unit and the end plate. The cylinder bore defines a compression chamber between the valve unit and the piston. The permanent magnet reciprocates the piston within the cylinder bore using an electromagnetic force generated by the coil. The permanent magnet is secured to the outer peripheral surface of the piston. The piston has first and second spacers for spacing the outer peripheral surface of the permanent magnet from the inner surface of the cylinder bore.
