Abstract:
Provided are a linear-motion damper and a steering device comprising the linear-motion damper, with which it is possible to obtain excellent assembly and maintenance workability. A steering device (100) is provided with a linear-motion damper (120) between a rack bar (103) and a rack end (106). The linear-motion damper (120) has an inner-chamber forming body (121) formed in a tubular shape in which a relative displacement body (140) is provided so as to be able to be displaced back and forth. In the inner-chamber forming body (121), a first inner chamber (125a) and a second inner chamber (125b) are formed respectively at both ends of a valve support portion (123) supporting each of a first circulation control valve (127) and a second circulation control valve (128), and an elastic body containing portion (130) is formed adjacent to the second inner chamber (125b). The elastic body containing portion (130) is formed in a state of being in communication with outer air, and has a returning elastic body (131) contained therein.
