Abstract:
Provided are: a linear motion guide device that improves the workability of a raceway surface and that makes it possible to reduce production costs; and a production method therefor. To this end, the linear motion guide device comprises a guide rail (1), a slider (2), and a plurality of rolling elements (4), and the guide rail (1) and the slider (2) comprise each of raceway surfaces (11, 21) that are provided to positions that face each other and that form a rolling path (3) for the rolling elements (4). The rolling bodies (4) are arranged in the rolling path (3) and the slider (2) moves with respect to the guide rail (1) via the rolling bodies (4). At least one of the raceway surfaces (21) of the slider (2) and the guide rail (1) comprises a first raceway surface (21A) and a second raceway surface (21B) that extends on both sides of the first raceway surface (21A). The surface roughness of the second raceway surface (21B) is rougher than the surface roughness of the first raceway surface (21A).
