Abstract:
The present invention achieves a manufacturing method with which the generation of frictional heat required for frictional pressure welding of the axial end sections of a first shaft part and a second shaft part is not easily interfered. In the present invention, in a state in which jigs (37, 37a) are engaged into slits (33, 33a), which are engagement parts formed on axial end sections on the reverse sides of respective frictional press welding parts of a rack shaft part (19) and a screw shaft part (20), thereby disabling a relative rotation between the rack shaft part (19), the screw shaft part (20), and the jigs (37, 37a), the frictional pressure welding of the axial end sections of the rack shaft part (19) and the screw shaft part (20) is performed while the jig (37a) rotationally drives the screw shaft part (20) and the jig (37) prevents the rotation of the rack shaft part (19).
