Abstract:

A linear motor comprises a stator consisting of a fixed core and a magnet wire, a movable unit having a movable core and a magnet, and a plate-like elastic member supporting the movable unit for swing motion in its swing direction. This arrangement dispenses with a slide section for supporting the movable unit, so that losses involved in reciprocation of the movable unit can be reduced. Further, an air compressor using this linear motor has high efficiency and high reliability.
