Title:
LINK CHAIN DRIVE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003036129
Kind Code:
A8
Abstract:
The invention relates to a link chain drive in which variations in speed in the movement of the link chain (G) due to the polygon effect are compensated for by rotating the drive chain sprocket (A) with non-uniform rotational speed. According to a first embodiment of the invention, the non-uniform rotational speed is effected as to alter the effective length of the load side of a traction means (Z) of the drive by means of a lever (22), which senses a cam disc (25) that is synchronously rotated therewith. According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the stator of a motor, whose rotor drives the drive chain sprocket, is displaced by a sensing mechanism in a manner that is synchronous to the rotation of the drive chain sprocket. The invention also relates to a link chain guide that reduces the entry shock of the link chain before its entry into the drive chain sprocket by supporting the link chain when it is moving. Lastly, the invention relates to an intermediate drive for engaging in the stretched link chain whose shaft is mounted on a pivotal support in a manner that enables it to be parallelly displaced.
