Abstract:

A liquid coater in which the amount of a liquid to be applied to a liquid-receiving medium is regulated. Specifically, before a pump is operated, a circulation rate determination processing (S3) is conducted. According to the rate determined, the rate of a circulation flow generating in a liquid-retention space in a pump operation step (S4) is regulated. The internal pressure of the liquid-retention space is thus regulated. As a result, that part of a contact member of a liquid-retention member which is in contact with a coating roller changes in the flow of a coating fluid, whereby the amount of the coating fluid which adheres to the coating roller and is released from the contact member is regulated. Consequently, the amount of the coating fluid to be transferred (applied) to the liquid-receiving medium can be regulated.
