Title:
LIQUID CONTAINER CLOSURE ASSEMBLY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2004067387
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
There is disclosed a closure assembly (5; 5a; 5b) or tamper-proof device adapted to be applied to a mouth of a container (e.g. for liquid), such as a neck of a bottle. There is a need for such closure assemblies (5; 5a; 5b) to provide tamper-evidence, e.g. indication of opening, and beneficially to also provide non-refilling means. Accordingly, the invention provides a closure assembly (5; 5a; 5b) comprising: a first member or tamper indication means (10a; 10b; 10c), and a container closure member (20; 20a; 20b) are retained in association with one another by retaining means, and wherein further initial opening of the closure assembly (5; 5a; 5b) causes release of the retaining means which causes the first member (10; 10a; 10b) thereafter to act as a valve member.
