Abstract:
A liquid crystal alignment agent containing at least one polymer selected from polyimide precursors obtained by a reaction between a diamine component containing diamines represented by the following formulae (1) and (2) and a tetracarboxylic acid derivative, and polyimides obtained by imidization of the polyimide precursors. In formula (2), n is an integer which is 1, 3, or 5.
