Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal alignment agent whereby a high-quality liquid crystal alignment film is efficiently obtained, the liquid crystal alignment film having a wide range of light irradiation amounts for which stable alignment control performance is obtained. A liquid crystal alignment agent characterized by containing component (A) and component (B). Component (A): a polymer (A) that is a polyimide precursor or the like comprising repeating units represented by formula (1), 20-100 mol% of X being a structure represented by formula (2), and 20-100 mol% of Y being a structure represented by formula (3). Component (B): a polymer (B) that is a polyimide precursor or the like comprising repeating units represented by formula (1), 20-100 mol% of X being a structure represented by formula (2), 65-100 mol% of Y being a structure represented by formula (4) or formula (5), and the polyimide precursor or the like including less than 20 mol% or not including repeating units in which Y is a structure represented by formula (3).
