Abstract:
The present invention uses a liquid crystal alignment agent containing a polymer (A) having a partial structure derived from a compound which is represented by formula (1) and which is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid, a polyamic acid ester, and a polyimide, the liquid crystal alignment agent having at least one group (R) selected from the group consisting of a radial polymerizable group, a photoinitiator group, a photo-aligning group, and a β-hydroxy ester group in the molecule of the polymer (A) and/or a molecule different from the polymer (A). In formula (1), R1 and R2 are a hydrogen atom or a C1-10 univalent hydrocarbon group, and X1 is a divalent organic group bonded to each of "-NHR1" and "-NHR2" in the formula by a chain hydrocarbon group or an alicyclic hydrocarbon group.
