Abstract:
Provided are: a liquid crystal alignment agent from which a liquid crystal alignment film having a high voltage holding ratio even after prolonged exposure under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, and having excellent residual image characteristics due to rapid relaxation of accumulated charges can be obtained; a liquid crystal alignment film obtained from the liquid crystal alignment agent; and a liquid crystal display element using the same. Furthermore, provided are: a liquid crystal alignment agent from which a liquid crystal alignment film having high light transmittance can be obtained; a liquid crystal alignment film obtained from the liquid crystal alignment agent; and a liquid crystal display element using the same. The liquid crystal alignment agent contains a polymer component having: a first repeating unit (a1) selected from the group consisting of a repeating unit represented by formula (1-a) and a repeating unit represented by formula (1-i); and a second repeating unit (a2) selected from the group consisting of a repeating unit represented by formula (2-a) and a repeating unit represented by formula (2-i). (The meaning of each substituent is as described in the specification.)
