Abstract:
Provided are: a liquid crystal alignment agent which can obtain a liquid crystal alignment film having a high film strength, a suppressed AC afterimage, and a high voltage retention rate even after being exposed for a long period of time under high temperature; the liquid crystal alignment film obtained from the liquid crystal alignment agent; and a liquid crystal display element using the same. The liquid crystal alignment agent containing component (A) below and the compound represented by formula (1) below. Component (A): a polymer component containing a polymer (A) selected from the group consisting of: a polyimide precursor obtained by causing a polymer reaction between a diamine component and a tetracarboxylic acid derivative component including at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a tetracarboxylic dianhydride and a derivative thereof; and an imidized product of said polyimide precursor.
