Abstract:
A liquid-crystal blind device which comes into the state of transmitting light along the line of sight of an observer, and which includes, formed therein, a plurality of patterns of any shape. A method of using the device is provided. The device is characterized by comprising: a plurality of transparent plates constituted of a glass, resin, or plastic; a pair of interlayers, adhesive materials, or pressure-sensitive adhesive materials formed on the inner sides of each pair of the transparent plates; and a liquid-crystal film sandwiched between the pair of interlayers, adhesive materials, or pressure-sensitive adhesive materials. The device is further characterized in that the liquid-crystal film comprises: a pair of substrates; a pair of or multiple pairs of transparent electrodes formed inside the pair of substrates; and a polymer/liquid-crystal composite material sandwiched between the pair of transparent electrodes or between each of the multiple pairs of transparent electrodes.
