Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/082397
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a liquid crystal cell wherein liquid crystal molecules do not melt into a plastic substrate even when the plastic substrate is significantly deformed by being stretched or shrunk. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a three-dimensional liquid crystal cell that uses the liquid crystal cell. This liquid crystal cell includes at least two plastic substrates and a liquid crystal layer. At least one of the plastic substrates is a heat-shrinkable film that has a heat shrinkage coefficient of 5%-75%. There is a polymer layer between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the plastic substrates. The polymer layer is obtained by polymerizing a composition that includes: at least one type of monofunctional monomer that has a hydrophilic group and that is selected from the group that consists of monofunctional acrylates and monofunctional methacrylates; and at least one type of polyfunctional monomer that has two or more functional groups and that is selected from the group that consists of polyfunctional acrylates and polyfunctional methacrylates. Both the monofunctional monomer and the polyfunctional monomer have a maximum absorption wavelength of 190-250 nm.
