A liquid crystal composition including a liquid crystalline compound whereby reverse wavelength dispersive birefringence can be manifested, a (meth)acrylic acid ester compound other than the liquid crystalline compound, and a surfactant including a fluorine atom, the ratio Mw/Np of the molecular weight Mw and the π electron count Np of the (meth)acrylic acid ester compound being 17 to 70, and the amount of the surfactant with respect to a total of 100 parts by weight of the liquid crystalline compound and the (meth)acrylic acid ester compound being 0.11 parts by weight to 0.29 parts by weight.
