Abstract:
A liquid crystal composition containing at least one compound expressed by general formula (i), and at least one compound expressed by general formula (ii). In the formulas, Ri1 represents a C1-8 alkyl group, Ai1 represents a 1,4-cyclohexene group, 1,4-phenylene group, or a single bond, Rii1 represents a C1-8 alkyl group, Rii2 represents a fluorine atom, chlorine atom, cyano group, or a C1-8 alkyl group, Aii1 and Aii2 represent a 1,4-cyclohexene group or a 1,4-phenylene group, Zii1 and Zii2 represent a single bond, -CH2CH2-, -(CH2)4-, -OCH2-, -CH2O-, -OCF2-, -CF2O-, -COO-, -OCO-, or -C≡C-, mii1 and mii2 independently represent 0, 1, 2, or 3, but mii1 + mii2 is 1, 2, 3, or 4.
