Abstract:
Provided are a liquid-crystal composition containing one or more compounds represented by general formula (I) and a liquid-crystal display element including the liquid-crystal composition. The liquid-crystal composition, which contains one or more compounds represented by general formula (I), has a large value of dielectric anisotropy and a low viscosity and is extremely practical as a liquid-crystal composition for liquid-crystal displays. The liquid-crystal display element, which includes the liquid-crystal composition according to the present invention, has a high contrast, high-speed responsiveness, and high light resistance, is inhibited from suffering image sticking or display failures, and is effective for higher-speed responsiveness and higher quality reliability.
