Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a nematic liquid crystal composition in which the phase of an electromagnetic wave such as a microwave and a millimeter wave can be controlled greatly, and therefore a nematic liquid crystal temperature range is broad in a liquid crystalline material having a high refractive index anisotropy Δn; and a liquid crystal element, a sensor, a liquid crystal lens, an optical communication device or an antenna, in which the nematic liquid crystal composition is used. More specifically, provided is: a liquid crystal composition comprising a compound represented by general formula (i) and a compound represented by general formula (ii); or a liquid crystal element, a sensor, a liquid crystal lens, an optical communication device or an antenna, which is equipped with a liquid crystal layer comprising the liquid crystal composition.
