Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOUND HAVING TETRAFLUOROCYCLOHEXADIENE SKELETON AND EXHIBITING NEGATIVE DIELECTRIC ANISOTROPY, LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/041006
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal compound that satisfies at least one physical property from among high stability against heat, light, and the like, a high clearing point, a low liquid crystal phase minimum temperature, low viscosity, suitable optical anisotropy, high dielectric anisotropy, a suitable elastic coefficient, excellent compatibility with other liquid crystal compounds, and the like. Also provided are a liquid crystal composition that contains the compound, and a liquid crystal display element that includes the composition. The compound represented by general formula (1). For example, R1 and R2 are an alkyl having 1-10 carbons, an alkenyl having 2-10 carbons, or an alkoxy having 1-9 carbons; ring A1 and ring A2 are 1,4-cyclohexylene or 1,4-phenylene; Z1 and Z2 are a single bond, -(CH2)2-, -CH=CH-, -COO-, -OCO-, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -CH2O-, or -OCH2-; a and b are 0, 1, 2, or 3, the sum of a and b being 4 or less.
