Abstract:
The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device whereby ghosting can be suppressed and a good voltage holding ratio can be maintained for a long period of time not only in a normal-temperature environment but in a high-temperature environment as well. This liquid crystal display device is provided with a pair of substrates (21), a liquid crystal layer (23) containing liquid crystal molecules which is held between the pair of substrates, and an alignment film (22) disposed between at least one of the pair of substrates (21) and the liquid crystal layer (23), the alignment film (22) containing quantum dots, and the quantum dots preferably having organic chains on the surfaces thereof.
