Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, DISPLAY CONTROL PROGRAM, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/139159
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device that uses a TN liquid crystal and a light source for backlight and reduces the conspicuousness of changes in color due to the viewing direction, an electronic device using such a liquid crystal display device, a display control method used for the liquid crystal display device, a display control program, and a non-transitory recording medium. The liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention has an illumination mode in which the color of a light shielding area looks different according to the viewing direction. However, the area creating the color changes (light shielding area) is relatively small since given an information display area and a background area the larger area is established as a light-transmitting area and the smaller area is established as the light-shielding area. Thus, the color changes due to the viewing direction are less conspicuous. With no need for an additional optical member, a light source, and the like which lead to a complex structure, a liquid crystal display device of this kind which uses TN liquid crystals can thus be achieved with a simpler structure.
