Abstract:
The present invention provides: a liquid crystal display device which is capable of maintaining good voltage holding ratio over a long period of time not only in a normal temperature environment but also in a high temperature environment, while using a photo-alignment film, and which is additionally capable of suppressing the occurrence of screen burn-in and spots and decrease in the contrast; and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, by which the above-described liquid crystal display device is able to be manufactured. A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention comprises a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer that is held between the pair of substrates, a photo-alignment film that is arranged between the liquid crystal layer and at least one of the pair of substrates, and a polymer layer that is arranged between the photo-alignment film and the liquid crystal layer. The polymer layer has a structure derived from a specific epoxy monomer and a structure derived from a specific curing agent.
