Abstract:
This liquid crystal display device has: a backlight; a wavelength conversion layer that receives a light from the backlight and outputs a wavelength-converted light; a liquid crystal layer that is positioned further to a viewing side than the wavelength conversion layer; a polarization plate that is positioned further to the viewing side than the liquid crystal layer; a polarization layer that is positioned between the wavelength conversion layer and the liquid crystal layer; a λ/4 plate that is positioned between the liquid crystal layer and the polarization plate; and a λ/4 layer that is positioned between the polarization layer and the liquid crystal layer.
