Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE, PIXEL CIRCUIT, AND DRIVING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/122494
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal display device which has multiple pixels arranged in a counter matrix structure. The liquid crystal display device has pixels each formed of a plurality of subpixels, the pixels being arranged in a matrix. The display device includes a switching element (2) provided for each subpixel; a liquid crystal element provided for each subpixel; n (first to nth) reference potential trunk lines (4) having a mutually different magnitude of potential; a first display signal line (3) for supplying a display signal; a scanning line (5); a control section (12); a first substrate (10) having the n reference potential trunk lines and the switching elements; and a second substrate (20) having the first display signal lines. The liquid crystal elements (1) are formed in between the first substrate (10) and the second substrate. One end of each liquid crystal element of n subpixels is connected to the first display signal line (3), while the other end of each liquid crystal element of the n subpixels is connected to the respective first to nth reference potential trunk lines (4) via the respective switching element (2). Through the scanning line (5), the control section (12) supplies an ON-state signal to each switching element (2) of the n subpixels with the same timing.
