Abstract:
In the present invention, reduction in quality of a display image caused by video blur, flicker, and the like can be suppressed without changing color hues of an image even with a simple constitution. In this liquid crystal display device (A), a backlight controller (6) receives drive mode information from an image discrimination means (4) and, on the basis of the drive mode, changes the drive frequency of a backlight (2) such that the proportion for the lighted period to the drive period for the backlight (2) does not change.
