Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing an increase in cost while maintaining the efficiency of light radiation onto an eye box. The liquid crystal display device is provided with: light sources 119 that emit a plurality of light beams; a first lens 111 that substantially collimates the plurality of light beams; a second lens 112 that diffuses the plurality of substantially-collimated light beams in a first direction that is perpendicular to the traveling direction of the substantially-collimated light beams and in a second direction that is perpendicular to the traveling direction and that is perpendicular to the first direction; a third lens 113 that adjusts the angles of the light beams emitted from the second lens 112; and a liquid crystal display panel 118 that emits display light Lo corresponding to an image on the basis of the plurality of light beams that have passed through the first to third lenses 111 to 113.
