Abstract:

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device in which flickering and burn-in caused by long-term use are suppressed. This liquid crystal display device has a first substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and a second substrate in this order, and also has, at a liquid crystal layer side of at least one substrate from among the first substrate and the second substrate, an alignment film which contains a polymer having a salicylic acid derivative functional group in a side chain, wherein the salicylic acid derivative functional group has a structure represented by formula (Z) below.
