Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device comprises: a backlight; a wavelength conversion layer for converting the wavelength of light received from the backlight and outputting the converted light; a liquid crystal layer arranged closer to a viewing side than the wavelength conversion layer; and a polarizing layer arranged between the wavelength conversion layer and the liquid crystal layer. The polarizing layer has a transmittance of 1% or more in the wavelength region of 380 nm or less, a transmittance of 3% or more in the wavelength region between 380 nm and 400 nm, and a transmittance of 5% or more in the wavelength region between 400 nm and 430 nm.
