Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device (10) is provided with: a liquid crystal panel (2) that has a display surface (2b) for displaying an image and a rear surface (2a) opposite the display surface; a light source (1) that emits white light toward the rear surface (2a) of the liquid crystal panel (2); a light scattering layer (4) having a light incident surface (4a) facing the display surface (2b) of the liquid crystal panel (2) and a light emission surface (4b) opposite the light incident surface; and an optical filter (3) arranged between the liquid crystal panel (2) and the light scattering layer (4), the optical filter blocking the transmission of light in a specific wavelength band included in the light from the liquid crystal panel (2).
