Abstract:
As a result of having a composition that contains one or more compounds represented by general formula (i) and one or more compounds represented by general formula (ii), the present invention provides a liquid crystal composition that is suitable for liquid crystal display elements, that does not worsen display element burn-in characteristics or liquid crystal display element characteristics such as dielectric anisotropy, viscosity, nematic phase upper limit temperature, nematic phase stability at low temperatures, and γ1, that is unlikely to result in drip marks at the time of production, and that achieves a stable discharge rate of a liquid crystal material during an ODF step. The present invention also provides a liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition.
