Abstract:
A columnar spacer (4), a liquid crystal display panel having the columnar spacer (4), and a fabrication method therefor. The material of the columnar spacer (4) has a structure as shown in formula 1, wherein the X group comprises at least one structure in formulae 2-1 to 2-5, formula 2-1, formula 2-2, formula 2-3, formula 2-4, and formula 2-5, the Y group comprises at least one structure in formulae 3-1 and 3-2, and a molecular chain end of the X group and/or a molecular chain end of the Y group has a group capable of chemically crosslinking with the material of an alignment layer; a molecular side chain of the X group and/or a molecular side chain of the Y group have a group capable of generating a hydrogen bond or an intermolecular force between the columnar spacer and the material of liquid crystal molecules (31). In one aspect, the columnar spacer (4) generates hydrogen bond or intermolecular force between the columnar spacer (4) and the liquid crystal molecules (31) so as to change the disordered arrangement of the surrounding liquid crystal molecules (31), thereby reducing light leakage; in another aspect, chemical crosslinking occurs between the columnar spacer (4) and the material of alignment layers under irradiation of ultraviolet light, and the columnar spacer is better fixed between upper and lower alignment layers.
