Abstract:

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display panel capable of preventing the generation of display inconsistency at the outer edge of a display area in an FFS mode. The liquid crystal display panel according to the present invention comprises a pair of substrates, a seal material, and a liquid crystal layer sealed by the pair of substrates and the seal material. One of said pair of substrates includes a pixel electrode having a plurality of slits and a planar common electrode that is located over an insulating film in a layer different from the layer of the pixel electrode. The non-display area of the liquid crystal display panel is provided with a gate driver, a plurality of gate lead wires extending from the gate driver toward the display area, and a common lead wire electrically connected to the common electrode. The common lead wire intersects with the plurality of gate lead wires. The common electrode covers the area between the common lead wire which intersects with the plurality of gate lead wires and a part of the outer edge of said display area along said common lead wire.
